How to: Set the Keyboard Repeat Rate in Windows 95.
Solution:
Double-click the 'Keyboard' icon in 'Control Panel'. Move the 'Repeat delay' and 'Repeat rate' sliders to change the speed. When changes are completed, click 'OK'.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)
3) Double-click the 'Keyboard' icon. (The 'Keyboard Properties' dialog box appears.)
4) If necessary, click the 'Speed' tab.
5) Move the 'Repeat delay' slider to increase or decrease the amount of time that elapses before the characters are repeated when holding down a key.
NOTE: Move the 'Repeat delay' slider to the left to increase the time required before the key being pressed will begin to repeat. Move the 'Repeat delay' slider to the right to decrease the time required before the key being pressed will begin to repeat.
6) Move the 'Repeat rate' slider to increase or decrease the rate at which the key being pressed is repeated.
NOTE: Move the 'Repeat rate' slider to the left to decrease the rate at which the key being pressed is repeated. Move the 'Repeat rate' slider to the right to increase the rate at which the key being pressed is repeated.
7) Test the speeds by placing the cursor in the test field and holding down keys.
8) Repeat steps 5) through 7) until the desired repeat rate and repeat delay are reached.
9) Click 'OK' once all changes are complete.
